November IPA 12/60 Program: PR TechTalk: Key infrastructure tools and how we’re using them

Wednesday, November 18, 2015, 10:00 am Pacific; 1:00 pm Eastern

Piggybacking on PRSA’s editorial theme in ComPRehension blog this month, New Technologies (best tech for PR Pros,) we thought we’d have a panel discussion on a relatively new tool among PR infrastructure tools, Iris PR Software.  It can be described as a  CRM tool (customer relationship management) for the PR community, which is a super cool and important idea.  This session will help you understand why.

We also invited Michelle Olson to return to talk in greater depth about the key tools she mentioned last month in our “growing your business” panel, and also because in her presentation we learned that she is an Iris user!

Our panelists will be covering benchmarking and measurement, as well as managing those all-important 1:1 media contacts. We’ll cover a handful of tools so as to really give you a good idea of their use, and then we’ll provide you with links to those in our follow up IPA blog.

Presenters:

Aly Saxe, CEO, IRISPR

Aly Saxe is a recovering PR agency owner, and now the CEO and Founder of Iris. A PR industry veteran, Aly started Ubiquity PR in 2007 when she saw a tech boom emerging in the Phoenix, AZ market. Ubiquity grew to have clients all over the world, and carved out a niche with B2B tech companies. Iris, the first SaaS platform designed specifically for PR, was born out of Ubiquity PR when Aly had enough of the chaos. Her agency used a myriad of documents, spreadsheets, and emails to manage its day to day activities. Unfortunately, opportunities were still missed and PR measurement still fell short. Chaotic systems and a lack of visibility into her team’s performance pushed Aly over the edge. Iris was born and she hasn’t looked back since.

Michelle Olson, APR, General Manager, Fingerpaint

Michelle built and ran Olson Communications for 13 years before selling it in 2014 to Fingerpaint, a New York-based advertising agency. She is the general manager of Fingerpaint’s Arizona office, where she leads the public relations practice throughout the company while growing all disciplines in the West. She has expertise in real estate, retail, hospitality/tourism, healthcare and environmental sustainability. Michelle focuses her client work on strategic planning, media relations, public involvement and crisis communications, and has handled numerous high-profile projects. She is a past president of the Phoenix Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and is a past chair of PRSA’s Counselors Academy. In 2003, Michelle was recognized by the Phoenix Chapter of PRSA with the prestigious Percy Award for her achievements in the public relations industry.
